Protest in Kosovo/ Former KLA fighter: The spirit of this people never died

Former KLA fighter, Shqipe Krasniqi, was present today at the rally held in support of former KLA leaders who are in The Hague.

Krasniqi said that silence is surrender and the people do not know how to surrender.

The former fighter said that one thing never faded, the spirit of this people.

 

 

"I have seen humiliated families, mothers who cried in secret, students persecuted just because they were Albanian. I have seen humble fathers and mothers who cried in secret so that their children would not see their tears. I have seen women who accompanied their sons to war with broken hearts but with their heads held high. They did not go down in history with headlines, but history would not exist without them. Silence is surrender and this people does not know how to surrender. Like many Albanian girls and women, I took up arms and went to the front. Not because I loved war but because I loved freedom. Our houses were burned and our villages were emptied. One thing was neither burned nor extinguished, and that is the spirit of this people ," she said./CNA
