Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has conveyed a message of congratulations on the 18th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence.

Kurti said that the people have sacrificed so that Kosovo can be free and independent.

"Today we celebrate, but at the same time we also honor the peaceful resistance, the armed uprisings, which culminated in the just war of the Kosovo Liberation Army," Kurti said.

"Kosovo is growing, the number of years of Independence is increasing, the number of recognitions of statehood is increasing, the country's economy is growing, the well-being of citizens is increasing, the power of the state is increasing. 18 years ago, the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo was born, but it was born mature, since many generations of activists, our entire people with countless generations, have contributed, have sacrificed so that we can be free and independent, to have a democratic and sovereign state. Today we celebrate, but at the same time we honor the peaceful resistance, the armed uprisings, which culminated in the just war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
