The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prishtina has arrested 13 people this Tuesday in Prizren and Podujevë

After a police action, 12 officials of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (ATK) and a businessman were handcuffed.

According to police information, it is said that those arrested are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of "Deception in office", "False documents related to tax" and "Tax evasion".

"Persons with the initials MZ, NB, ST, AJ, MR, MZ, MB, G.Gj., AP, VK, AR, Xh.H., officials of TAK, are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of "Fraud on duty", from article 419 of the KPRK, so that the suspects FP, owner of three businesses in Prizren, have recognized as regular 23 fictitious invoices with a value of 18 million euros, perhaps for the construction of a hotel which has already was built before, and which invoices he had received from the defendants BB and BB (who are wanted) owners of a business in Podujevë, and who are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses "False documents related to tax" and "Tax avoidance" and as a result of these actions, TAK officials have recognized the right to refund the deductible VAT in the amount of 2.8 million euros, for which there is also an Order of the Private Executor for refund obliged by the Budget of Kosovo, but that this procedure was suspended at the last moment due to the initiation of the criminal case against the aforementioned defendants", the announcement states.

In the communiqué, it is stated that the BB, FP and BB, it is claimed that with their actions they have damaged the budget of Kosovo in the amount of 2.8 million euros.

According to the announcement, the State Prosecutor has issued a decision on the detention of the suspects for a duration of 48 hours, and further legal actions will be taken against them.

The Kosovar media write that during the control in the facilities of citizen FM, a quantity of weapons, three long, three short, electronic equipment, telephone and other material evidence were found and confiscated.
