Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are 'at the heart' of King

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are part of the funeral plans being drawn up for King Charles, according to a report.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have completely moved away from Windsor Castle in recent years, it seems as if the ongoing royal rift is not affecting the monarch's funeral plans.

His Majesty has included not only his youngest son, 40, and the former "Suits" contestant, 43, "at the heart" of his plans, but has also included their two California-based children, Archie and Lilibet, in the process, reports the Telegraph.

Whenever the time comes, the 76-year-old monarch is said to have made it clear to officials that the author of "Spray" should take his rightful place at the center of his family.

And while there's no indication that the king's reign won't continue for years to come, planning for such momentous moments usually begins well in advance.

Palace officials hold planning meetings with senior representatives from the police, military and church to ensure everything is in place when the fateful day comes.

As for the Sussexes, media reports say both Harry and Markle are involved in the entire plan - from the initial announcement to the procession and funeral.

Harry is expected to walk shoulder to shoulder with his brother, who will later be king, at the head of the procession from Westminster Abbey through the streets of London.

The Sussexes will also be invited to attend the family vigil during the funeral period at Westminster Hall.

Additionally, arrangements have reportedly been made for Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, to attend the funeral service with their parents.

While most state funerals — codenamed Operation Menai Bridge for Charles — usually remain traditional, each monarch has the option to make some changes to the plans.

For Charles, insiders believe the service will showcase its lifelong commitment to the environment and use sustainable elements where possible.

It is also said that the period of royal mourning will be reduced to allow time for a period of national mourning.
