Ukrainian President Zelensky asks allies to keep their promise
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on allies on Sunday to honor all promises to supply Ukraine with weapons, including those to counter Russian airstrikes.

Zelensky said that over the past week, Russian forces had launched hundreds of strikes against Ukraine and used about 700 aerial bombs and over 600 attack drones.

Ukrainian air defenses shot down 60 of 94 drones launched by Russia overnight, the air force said on Sunday. He said 34 drones had been "lost," in connection with Ukraine's use of electronic warfare to redirect Russian drones.

"Every week, the Russian war continues only because the Russian military maintains its ability to terrorize Ukraine and exploit its superiority in the skies," Zelenskiy said.

He called on Ukraine's allies to fulfill the agreements already made.

"The decisions taken at the NATO summit in Washington, as well as those adopted during the Ramstein meetings regarding air defense for Ukraine, have not yet been fully implemented," Zelenskiy said. /CNA
