Minors injured in stabbing at school in England/ 16-year-old perpetrator

A stabbing incident has occurred at Thorpe St Andrew's School, near Norwich in England. A 16-year-old student has been arrested by police after attacking a female student with a knife, causing an alarm at the school. 

Security protocols were immediately activated at the school and students were ordered to hide under their desks and turn off their cell phones.

Police arrived at the scene immediately and used drones to search for the suspected perpetrator, who is believed to have initially fled the school by climbing over a perimeter fence. He was arrested after about an hour of searching by police officers.

The injured student, about 15 years old, was taken to the hospital and authorities said her injuries were minor and not life-threatening.

Police also clarified that the incident is not linked to a previous complaint about racist and anti-Semitic slogans that were heard at a football match at the same school last week. Investigations into the circumstances of the attack are ongoing. /CNA
