Albin Kurti's escort attacked/Three police officers suspended

The escort of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was attacked with eggs today during a visit to Skenderaj.

Kosovo Police has announced that three police officers have been suspended in connection with this case.

According to the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, the Regional Police Directorate in Mitrovica South has taken several actions and, in coordination with the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK), has taken the decision to suspend three police officers from the Skenderaj Police Station for a period of 72 hours.

Further investigations against police officers for possible violations will be conducted by the relevant competent institutions.

LVV assemblyman in Skenderaj, Hysni Mehani, reacted to the egg attack.

He wrote that Sami Lushtaku is behind the egg attacks.

"Today's news is the inauguration of the kindergarten in Skenderaj and the good work that the government is doing. 3.2 million invested by the Kosovo Government in Skenderaj during this mandate alone. Sami Lushtaku's egg attacks are proof that you have run out of gunpowder, as well as proof of the primitive mentality that leads PDK in Skenderaj and unfortunately the entire PDK. I encourage the media that are writing to me to deal with the good work of the Government and not to deal with those who are still trying to produce bad news about Skenderaj," he wrote./ CNA
