"If Moscow implements it, we will do the same"/ Zelensky reveals proposal for Russia

Kiev has sent Moscow, through American mediators, a proposal to stop attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today.

"If Russia is ready to stop attacks on our energy sector, we will be ready to do the same. And this proposal from us - which was sent by the Americans - has been communicated to the Russian side," Zelensky said in a video statement released tonight.

He also said Kiev is continuing contacts with US negotiators on the issue of security guarantees, which it sees as key to achieving lasting peace.

Last week, Zelensky had backed a ceasefire for Easter. But after a barrage of Russian attacks, he said Moscow chose to respond with a barrage of Shahed drones. /CNA
