A vegan mother has been found guilty over the death of her 18-month-old son, who weighed just 7.7kg when he died, in 2019.

39-year-old Sheila O'Leary fed her child only fruits, vegetables and breast milk. She is already awaiting sentencing on July 25, risking life imprisonment, as the boy died of malnutrition.

Meanwhile, her husband will also appear before the court and will most likely be punished. The couple has two other children, 5 and 3 years old, also malnourished. /CNA.al
