Germany's dual citizenship law could officially come into force in January 2024, following agreements reached.
The coalition has said the law could be approved in January after resolving previous disputes over the right of beneficiaries, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
Once the dual citizenship law comes into effect, foreign nationals legally residing in Germany will be able to retain their original citizenship as well as acquire German citizenship without relinquishing the other.
Also, once the new law comes into force, those who have acquired the German language and those who have made great achievements in their work will not have to wait more than three years to obtain citizenship./ CNA
