Russia has established "comprehensive" defense cooperation with North Korea and is continuing its "strategic partnership" course with India and China.
The Chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, made the announcement at a conference with foreign military attachés on Thursday.
"The course towards developing a comprehensive strategic partnership with China and India continues. Active and comprehensive cooperation with North Korea has been established," Gerasimov said in a year-end speech, using an official abbreviation for North Korea.
He gave no other details.
Gerasimov said NATO's activity in Eastern Europe and the "accelerated integration" of Sweden and Finland into the US defense alliance were negatively affecting the situation in Europe, "with prospects for increased confrontation," reports Reuters./ CNA
