Iranian state media: New leader Mojtaba Khamenei, message to the people

Iranian state media announced that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, will share his first official message very soon.

This will be Khamenei's first public message since taking office, at a very tense moment for the region.

The message is expected to indicate Iran's political and strategic direction under the new leadership and provide signals about Iran's stance on the current conflict in the Middle East and on relations with the US and Israel.

Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed the new supreme leader by the Assembly of Experts, following the assassination of his father Ali Khamenei, his predecessor in office, in airstrikes on February 28, 2026 during the conflict with the US and Israel./CNA
