War in Ukraine/ New US-Russia talks in Miami expected to take place this weekend

New talks between Russian and American envoys on the war in Ukraine are scheduled to take place this weekend in Miami, a White House official said. The White House did not provide details on the composition of the delegations.

However, according to a report published in international media, Washington will be represented by US special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law and adviser to President Donald Trump, and Moscow by the Kremlin's economic envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The

new talks are being organized after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke of progress in efforts to reach a compromise between Kiev and Washington on the content of a plan proposed by Moscow to end the war, following meetings on Sunday and Monday of American, Ukrainian and European officials in Berlin.

However, Zelensky warned at the same time that Russia is preparing for a new year of war in 2026. Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, reiterated yesterday that the objectives of the attack on Ukraine will undoubtedly be achieved.

The details of the American plan after the amendments presented in Berlin are not known. Kiev has objected because the text foresees territorial concessions on its part.
