Scary in Greece/ "Medication Challenge" in schools, 9-year-old ends up in hospital

A 9-year-old child has been admitted to the Agrinio General Hospital in Greece after becoming part of a dangerous challenge circulating in schools across the country regarding the consumption of a large amount of medication.

As reported by several local Greek media outlets, the incident occurred when children of the same age were playing at a school in the city and decided to participate in the dangerous game.

One of the children gave the medicine to his friend, causing him to become unwell and be sent to hospital.

The child remains hospitalized, but his life is not in danger, according to authorities.

The mother of the 9-year-old who gave him the medicine was arrested in connection with the incident, charged with neglect of a minor. The incident raises concerns about the dangers of such online and school challenges and highlights the need to strengthen supervision of children./CNA
