Prosecutors Charge Nick Reiner with Murdering His Parents/Here's What

Los Angeles prosecutors have filed charges against Nick Reiner, who was arrested as the main perpetrator in the murder of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner.

Nick Reiner is facing two counts of first-degree murder, District Attorney Nathan Hochman said. The 32-year-old, who is also charged with using a dangerous and deadly weapon, which is a knife, faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty if convicted.

Nick Reiner will appear in court to formally face the charges and plead guilty once approved by prison officials.

During a press conference on Tuesday, prosecutor Hochman said a decision had not yet been made on whether prosecutors would seek the death penalty. 

The legendary Hollywood director and actor and his wife were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home with neck injuries that were caused by a knife attack. The couple was found dead in their home by one of their daughters, who was the one who notified police. The Los Angeles Police Department said yesterday that the exact conclusions regarding the murder of the famous director and his wife are pending a forensic examination. /CNA
