The special envoy of the European Union for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, will meet today in Belgrade with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and tomorrow in Pristina with the chief negotiator of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi.
There is still no information on whether Lajcak will have a meeting with Prime Minister Kurti. This is Lajcak's first visit since November 14, when tensions rose with Kurti, who accused the European envoy of losing neutrality.
The meeting comes just one day after the Quint countries issued a joint statement demanding the suspension of the implementation of the decree of the Central Bank of Kosovo on the termination of payment transactions with Serbia.
"We are concerned about the impact of the regulation, particularly on schools and hospitals, for which no alternative process currently appears viable. The regulation will also have a direct impact on the daily lives of the vast majority of Kosovo Serbs who receive payments /financial assistance from Serbia", the announcement states. /CNA
