Attack on the American base in Jordan/ 3 soldiers were killed, over 30 others were injured

A drone attack took place on a US military base in Jordan, where 3 soldiers were killed.

Also, more than 30 other soldiers were injured by this attack.

US officials said the wounded soldiers have traumatic brain injuries and the number of injured could rise.

It remains unclear why air defenses failed to intercept the drone that attacked the US base.

US President Joe Biden blamed Iran-backed groups.

"While we are still gathering facts about this attack, we know it was carried out by Iranian-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq," Biden said.

The President warned that: "We will continue their commitment to fight terrorism. I have no doubt, we will hold those involved accountable at the time and in the manner we choose."

This is the first time US troops have been killed in an attack in the Middle East since the start of the Gaza war./ CNA
