The new leader of the Syriza party in Greece, Stefanos Kasselakis, has requested the legalization of same-sex marriage.

He said that upon his arrival at the head of the party, which was previously led by Alexis Tsipras, he will perform 3 acts. One of them is allowing same-sex marriages.

The neighboring country's media reports that Kasselakis has retorted with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis about the same-sex marriage draft.

But the new leader of Syriza says he will not wait for his approval.

"When someone is hungry for equality and inclusion, you don't say, 'wait for me to explain,'" he said.

Kasselakis declared to the local media that the delay created by Mitsotakis has to do with the vote against Minister Makis Voridis.

He announced that Syriza will propose a law of its own. 

We recall that Kasselakis got married in the USA in November with his partner, Tyler McBeth. They have expressed their desire to adopt children, although this is prohibited in Greece./ CNA
