The Government of Kosovo has announced that it has decided to cancel the decision to place stickers on vehicles with Serbian license plates.

Earlier, Serbia decided to allow vehicles with RKS license plates to move freely in its territory from the beginning of this week.

According to the Kosovo government, the removal of the adhesive paper regime "is an act of good neighborliness and comes after full recognition of the number plates of the Republic of Kosovo by Serbia".

Its decision will enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, said on December 31 that the decision to allow the free movement of vehicles with RKS license plates through central Serbia, his government has avoided "big pitfalls and dangers" for the country.

Belgrade's decision was welcomed by the European Union, which described it as a positive step towards the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia./ CNA
