On Friday, Kosovo reached an agreement with the American Agency for International Development (USAID) worth about 35 million dollars.

The Development Grant Agreement was signed by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Acting Director of USAID, Kerry Monaghan Hogler.

President Osmani has said that the funds will contribute to the fulfillment of Kosovo's development objectives.

"This agreement is proof of the continuous support of the Government and the American people towards Kosovo and its people", she said in a press conference.

Osmani said that the agreement will also contribute to reducing corruption and increasing the efficiency of responding to the needs of citizens.

The American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, said in the joint conference with President Osmani that the agreement confirms the long-term partnership of the USA with the people of Kosovo.

Hovenier has mentioned that since 1999 the USA has invested more than 2 billion dollars in Kosovo, "to advance common interests"./ Rel
