Kosovo towards early elections / Vjosa Osmani gathers party leaders today

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will hold a meeting with party leaders today to set the date for early elections. The meeting, which is expected to take place at 10:30, comes a day after the session where the formation of a government failed again.

The Assembly yesterday overturned the composition of Glauk Konjufca's government with 56 votes in favor, 53 against and 4 abstentions. After the government failed to obtain the necessary 61 votes, the way is opened for new parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

The cabinet proposed by Konjufca:

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs: Albin Kurti;

Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla;

Third Deputy Prime Minister: Fikrim Damka;

Minister of Finance: Hekuran Murati;

Minister of Family and Social Welfare: Andin Hoti;

Minister of Defense: Ejup Maqedonci;

Minister of Internal Affairs: Xhelal Sveçla;

Minister of Administration and Digitalization: Lulzon Jagxhiu;

Minister of Health: Arben Vitia;

Minister of Education: Avni Zogiani;

Minister of Culture: Fatmir Spahiu;

Minister of Sports: Blerim Gashani;

Minister of Administration and Local Government: Rasim Demiri;

Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning: Fitore Pacolli;

Minister of Agriculture: Armend Muja;

Minister of Infrastructure: Besnik Bislimi;

Minister of Trade: Mimoza Kusari-Lila;

Minister of Energy: Artane Rizvanolli;

Minister for Communities and Returns: Nenad Rashic;
