Iran adds sophisticated missiles to its arsenal

Iran's navy has added sophisticated domestically produced cruise missiles to its arsenal, Iranian state media reported on December 24.

According to the announcement, the Talaleieh and Nasir missiles reached the naval base near the Indian Ocean in the port city of Konark, located about 1,400 kilometers southeast of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The head of the navy, Admiral Shahram Irani, said that the Talaeieh missiles have a range of over 1,000 kilometers, describing these missiles as "smart". Iran said the cruise missiles have the ability to hit targets while in motion.

He said Nasir missiles have a range of 100 kilometers and can be installed on warships.

Last month, a cargo ship owned by an Israeli billionaire was attacked by a suspected Iranian drone in the Indian Ocean, as Israel launched a war in the Gaza Strip against Hamas - the Palestinian group designated a terrorist organization by the US and Britain - the group radical that is supported by Iran.
