Kurti: Radoicic is preparing other attacks on Kosovo
Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said on Saturday that the former vice-president of the Serbian List, Milan Radoicic, who took responsibility for the September 24 attack, is preparing new attacks on Kosovo.

"After the terrorist and criminal attack, Milan Radoicic was released by the Serbian court in record time. He is now continuing preparations for other attacks in our country together with some members of the "Civil Defense" terrorist organization. Radoicic is holding regular meetings with senior officials of the Serbian Secret Service BIA, the premises of the Jablanovica firm in Raska, similar to those in Novi Pazar, are being used for shelter and storage of vehicles and explosive devices for future attacks by Radoicic and his group . In reality, some members of the terrorist group "Mbrotja civile" who carry out surveillance in the territory of Kosovo are housed in this building," he said.

Prime Minister Kurti made these comments during a press conference, but without giving evidence, about his assertions about a possible attack.

On September 29, Milan Radoicic, former vice president of Lista Serbe, the largest party of Kosovo Serbs supported by Belgrade, took responsibility for the preparation and leadership of the armed group for the attack on the police in the village of Banjska in the north on September 24, in which case a police officer and three of the attackers were killed. Prime Minister Kurti said that at the same time a group of about 80 people, all left from Kosovo, continued training near Rashka, a city near the border with Kosovo.

"The exercises are being carried out for the placement of anti-tank mines in winter conditions and for snipers. During the month of November 2023, there were plans to carry out an attack towards the municipality of Zubin Potok in order to take Radoicic's villa on the shores of Lake Ujman, but these plans have been temporarily suspended due to these elections in Serbia," he said. .

Prime Minister Kurti said that the preliminary plan for retaliatory attacks against the Kosovo police has changed after the addition of joint patrols between the police and KFOR members around the border with Serbia. He said that the institutions of Kosovo, in coordination with the allies, are committed to providing security for citizens without distinction.

Serbian officials rejected Prime Minister Kurti's assertions through the director of the office for Kosovo in the Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, who said that such statements are aimed at "new crises to divert attention from the bad economic situation and the dire situation in Albanian environments in Kosovo".

He dismissed any possibility that Belgrade is preparing for an attack. "There is no training on the ground, it is a way to avoid the obligations in the dialogue, because now is the time to talk about the concrete steps towards the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority," he told the media in Serbia.

There was no reaction from peacekeeping forces who have increased their presence on the ground after the September 24 attack, which prompted new efforts by Western diplomacy to renew Kosovo-Serbia talks based on an agreement reached in February in Brussels. and on the ways of its implementation the parties agreed in Ohrid in March.

Western diplomacy is asking Kosovo to start the procedure for the establishment of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority, and Serbia to recognize the de-facto citizenship of Kosovo.

On December 14, Serbia said that the agreement is considered acceptable only in the context in which the de facto or de jure recognition of Kosovo is not included. Prime Minister Albin Kurti said today that Brussels, as a mediator, must create legal, political and diplomatic security for the agreement and the process as a whole, and according to him, the signature is a guarantee for such a thing.

"We need an address from Brussels for the continuous violations that culminated in the letter of Prime Minister (Ana) Bërnabi?. It's useless to talk about a draft statute when you have that letter from Brnabic. She is saying that she accepts Kosovo's independence, it does not have a seat in the UN and does not respect the so-called territorial integrity. Do you know what it means when the prime minister of the neighboring country says not to respect the so-called territorial integrity, this is a warning of aggression, this is the essence of the matter", he said.

The European Union has announced that the agreement is binding for both parties and the bloc's council of ministers has asked the European Commission to include it in Serbia's negotiating framework for membership and Kosovo's steps towards integration./ Voa
