President Frank-Walter Steinmeier recalls the importance of democracy and calls on citizens to participate actively: "Yes, we want clarity. Yes, it is right to expect those with political responsibility to fight for the right path, but and give answers that will help us as a country".  

Referring to the events of the year we are leaving behind, the president draws attention, that "This year the world has really shown its dark side. We are looking at scenes of suffering and destruction, scenes of hatred and violence. The war of Russian aggression against Ukraine is enters its second winter. And since the fall, we have been watching in horror the atrocities of Hamas and the victims of war in the Middle East."

Steinmeier further emphasizes the importance of Christmas as a time when people can "remove stress for a while". He wishes his compatriots to use the holidays to relax and regenerate the forces that will be needed. to face these challenges.
