Rome court turns back migrant ship again/ Italian Interior Ministry: Government

Italian media report that the ship with 43 migrants transferred to Albania last Tuesday departed from the port of Shëngjin for Italy.

The group of asylum seekers, with nationalities from Bangladesh and Egypt, will have to return to Italy by order of judges from the Rome Court of Appeal.

Arrival in Bari is scheduled for 8:30 PM tonight. This is the third time that judges have refused to detain him at the Gjader center.

"The government will move forward with the belief that the fight against irregular immigration that benefits from the instrumental use of asylum claims is the path to follow to combat the business of unscrupulous traffickers."

This is underlined by sources from the Italian Ministry of the Interior, according to which the Italy-Albania Protocol "is the model from which to start for the creation of real regional centers on which there has been full convergence by European ministers."

Since the EU Home Affairs Council held this week in Warsaw - the sources continue, "the position of the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, was largely shared by the colleagues present.

European partners, in full harmony with the Commission, are considering strengthening EU rules supporting border procedures also applied in Albania, not only by providing for the entry into force of some rules of the Pact, but also with innovative solutions as a valuable example of innovative cooperation with a third country."/ CNA
