Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has recalled the massacre of Serbs 26 years ago, in 1999. Through a post on social media, Kurti recalled that 30 Albanians lost their lives in Rogovë in Has, Gode and Bishtazhi in Gjakova, while emphasizing that their sacrifice is the foundation of freedom and is a sacred legacy that will be preserved from generation to generation.

26 years ago, in the cold days of the last days of January 1999, Serbian armed forces killed 30 Albanians in Rogovë i Hasit, Gode and Bishta?i i Gjakova.
21 fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army fell heroically in battle, facing the occupying forces to protect the civilian population. Nine civilians were mercilessly killed, simply because they were Albanians, and wanted to live freely.

Their sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom. It is a sacred trust that will be preserved for generation after generation.
With pride and pain, we remember those who on January 27, 28 and 29 fell for the liberation of Kosovo, for our independent state, for the free and sovereign Republic:

Agim Zeneli, Agron Rama, Agush Gjocaj, Bahtjar Morina, Daut Kelmendi, Emrush Çetaj, Gëzim Ademaj, Gaspër Karaqi, Hamdi Berisha, Haxhi Kleçka, Ilir Merturi, Kasim Shala, Luan Smajli, Memë Lleshi, Naim Dreshaj, Naim Gashi, Prend Lleshi, Sahit Krasniqi, Sejdi Rama, Valon Gashi, Vesel Avdyli, Rrustem Morina, Selman Morina, Muhamet Morina, Nusret Morina, Xhevdet Berisha, Ibrahim Kryeziu, Adem Shala, Zyber Shala and Rifat Shala.
