41 bodies found after Washington plane crash

Investigators announced that the black box of the US military helicopter that collided with a passenger plane on Wednesday evening at the airport in the US capital has been found.

Authorities said they were examining the helicopter's flight data, along with data found on the plane's black boxes, in an attempt to find the cause of the crash that left 67 dead.

Meanwhile, search teams are continuing to scour the Potomac River as part of the search and investigation into one of the worst air crashes in nearly a quarter century in the United States. Fire Chief John Donnelly Sr. said Friday that the bodies of 41 victims had been recovered.

It is unclear how long the search operation will continue. Ronald Reagan National Airport has resumed operations, although two of the airport's three runways remain closed.

On Friday, President Donald Trump said the Army Black Hawk helicopter was flying higher than it should have when it collided with the American Airlines plane. “The Black Hawk helicopter was flying at a much higher altitude than the 200-foot limit. That’s not too hard to figure out, is it,” President Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social./ VOA
