1,000 cannabis plants found in Fier/ 48-year-old arrested, father prosecuted

Following Operation "Coordinates", 1,000 suspected cannabis plants were found and destroyed.

The plants were found in the village of Povelçë, Fier, and their grower, 48-year-old E. Gj., was arrested after being caught red-handed taking care of them.

His father, E. Gj., 77 years old, was also prosecuted, as he is suspected of being involved in criminal activity.

During the search of the father and son's apartment, officers found and seized 1 pistol, 2 rifles, and 14 live ammunition.

Fier/The police operation codenamed "Coordination" continues, to prevent, identify and crack down on cases of cultivation of narcotic plants.

1,000 narcotic cannabis plants are found and destroyed along drainage channels in the village of Povelçë.

The services of the Fier Police Commissariat, as a result of continuous controls and investigations carried out with proactive methods following the police operation codenamed "Coordinates", uncovered another case of cultivation of narcotic plants.     

During the inspections, in the place called "Fields of Povelçë Village", the services of the Fier Police Commissariat found 1,000 suspected cannabis plants cultivated.

During the intervention by the Police services, citizen E. Gj., 48 years old, resident of Pojan, was caught red-handed while taking care of narcotic plants. He was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons and ammunition".

In connection with this case, criminal proceedings were also initiated against the father of citizen E. Gj., citizen E. Gj., 77 years old, suspected of being involved in this criminal activity.

During the search of the apartment, the Police services found and seized 1 firearm, a pistol, 2 combs and 14 live ammunition.

The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning.
