After a month-long investigation, the Durrës Police have finalized the "Lekaj" operation.

In Kavaja, 2 people have been arrested and 2 others have been declared wanted, after they had cultivated cannabis plants in 8 mini-plots (a total of 1200 plants).

The police have seized 20,000 euros, 1,000 cannabis seeds, 1 sporting weapon, ammunition and other illegal items.

After 1 month of investigations using proactive methods, the police operation codenamed "Lekaj" is finalized.

The operation, by the Kavaja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Operational Sector of the Durrës DVP, under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office.

They had cultivated Cannabis plants in 8 mini-plots (a total of 1200 plants), 2 citizens were arrested and 2 others were declared wanted.

20,000 euros, 1,000 cannabis seeds, 1 sporting weapon, ammunition and other illegal items were seized.

In continuation of the work to prevent and crack down on the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic plants, after a month-long investigation, with proactive methods, within the framework of the police operation codenamed "Lekaj", 2 citizens were caught red-handed, who had cultivated 1200 narcotic plants in 8 mini-plots in the hills of the village of Lekaj (near the water reservoir of this village).

Specifically, citizens DM, 59 years old, resident of the village of Lekaj, and AH, 36 years old, resident of the village of Donofrosë, Berat, were arrested. Citizens RK and EK were also identified and declared wanted, for whom, due to the investigation, no further information is provided.

As part of this operation, searches were carried out in several apartments and premises, from which 20,000 euros, 1,000 cannabis seeds, 1 sporting weapon, ammunition and other illegal items were seized.

Also, a portion of the narcotic plants was seized as material evidence, while the rest was destroyed by burning.

High intensity work is being done to capture the wanted citizens, as well as to document this criminal activity with legal evidence. The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
