A case of attempted illegal border crossing with forged documents is being investigated.

Two Turkish citizens are arrested in flagrante delicto.

Rinas Border Police Services, in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Section at the Rinas Police Commissariat, during detailed checks of the documentation of citizens entering and exiting this border crossing point, identified and foiled a case of attempted illegal border crossing with false documents.

At the end of the investigative actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

HK, 29 years old and AH, 21 years old, both of Turkish nationality, for the criminal offenses "Forgery of ID cards, passports or visas", "Forgery of documents", committed in collaboration, and "Providing assistance for illegal border crossing".

During the exit documentation check, citizen HK, who was traveling on the Tirana-Luton route, together with citizen AH, presented a Greek passport, which the Border Police services suspected to be forged. Both citizens were transferred to the second line for a more detailed check.

During the physical and baggage search, the Police found a Greek identity card and a Greek driving license on the HK citizen, suspected to be forged. The Greek passport presented was also found to be forged.

Meanwhile, in the backpack of citizen AH, the Police services found a Turkish passport with the data of citizen HK, which, after examination in the laboratory, resulted to be a regular document. In the luggage of citizen AH, the Police found a Greek passport, a Greek identity card and a Greek driving license with the data of citizen YY, which, after preliminary examination in the laboratory, resulted to be forged.

The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court for further action.

The Rinas Border Police remains committed to guaranteeing the free movement of citizens, managing the flow during the tourist season, as well as identifying, preventing and cracking down on any illegality./ CNA
