"I will totally destroy it"/ Trump warns of new attack on Iran's Kharg Island

US President Donald Trump declared on Monday that he would again attack Iran's Kharg Island, following an attack last week that destroyed key military facilities, saying he would completely destroy it.

The comments came during a three-minute phone call with PBS News while the president was attending what he described as a very important meeting on the Iran war.

Trump described the island as out of operation, except for the pipelines located there.

"I didn't want to hit the pipelines because, you know, it's years of work to put them in place. It's militarily dead now, completely. Every military zone, they're gone," Trump said.

Trump said he left much of the infrastructure undamaged in the attacks on Tehran, since the US and Israel first attacked on February 28. /CNA
