The US State Department has revoked the visas of at least six individuals who allegedly "celebrated" the murder of Charlie Kirk.
The State Department stressed in the statement that it continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk.
The Department's moves to revoke and deny visas to people for their comments regarding Kirk have raised questions about their legality under the First Amendment.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said last month that the agency had likely denied visas to people celebrating Kirk's killing.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said he had instructed consular officials to monitor social media comments purporting to identify individuals praising, rationalizing or downplaying Kirk's death.
It is not clear how many people have been assigned to do social media verification or whether the revocations cited on Tuesday represent all those whose visas have been revoked. / CNA
