The chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, was asked this Saturday about the allusions to the taking over of the leadership of the DP by Argita Malltezi, the daughter of the former prime minister Sali Berisha.

Bardhi said that at the moment it is not possible to talk about this issue, since until 2026 the DP will be led by Sali Berisha.

He stated in a television interview that this question is asked "in the option when the PD has lost the elections", while he emphasized that he cannot accept such a thing when the opposition is working for unification.

"I have said it, I refuse to... if we ask this question, we are in the option that DP has lost the elections. I did not fight to unite the DP so that the DP would lose the elections. We do not have a vacancy in the leadership of the DP. Mr. Berisha is indisputable, he took the mandate in 2022. There are elections for the head of the DP in 2026. Each of us should only have the goal of how we will win the elections. I work only for this objective", underlined Bardhi./ CNA
