The most expensive cities to live in are Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland, according to a current survey by the company Numbeo, which was launched by former Google software engineer Mladen Adamovi? from Serbia.

The more expensive Geneva has an index value of 101.7, indicating that living in that city is 1.7 percent more expensive than New York.

The estimated monthly cost of living for one person in Geneva is about $1,715 without rent, while the estimated monthly cost for a family of four is about $6,300, according to Numbeo.

The index value of 100.4 was recorded in Zurich ranked second. A single person has to pay $1,689 a month to live in Zurich, not including rent, and a family of four costs $6,184.

New York is the third most expensive city in the world, followed by San Francisco, Boston, Reykjavik, Washington, Seattle, Los Angeles and Chicago.
