1093 days since swearing in as Prime Minister/ Meloni Government third longest

Today marks 3 years since Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni took office. Meloni was sworn in on October 22, 2022, marking the longest mandate in the history of the Italian Republic, as only the Berlusconi II and IV governments have had a longer lifespan.

Meloni's government is equal to the duration of the Craxi government from August 4, 1983 - August 1, 1986. 

In the first two places are two of Berlusconi's four governments: Berlusconi II holds the record for the longest term with 1,412 days in office from 11 June 2001 - 23 April 2005, followed by Berlusconi IV and the last with 1,287 days from 8 May 2008 - 16 November 2011.

The video published on social media by Meloni shows the government's achievements in several areas:

" Employment : Meloni states that "the employment rate is at 62.6% and the unemployment rate is at 6%, the lowest since June 2007.

Security: 37,400 new police officers, 6,101 more firefighters, approximately 4,000 evictions from occupied homes or buildings, over 18,000 assets confiscated from mafia organizations and donated to the community.

Fiscal peace: 65 billion euros in the two-year period 2023-2024, record recovery of tax evasion.

Healthcare: Record allocations to the national healthcare fund with +17 billion euros since its establishment.

The trend of increasing illegal immigration has stopped, decreasing by -29% and repatriations by +52% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2022.

35 billion euros in foreign direct investment for new businesses, exports of 623.5 billion euros in 2024 and 384.2 billion euros in the first seven months of 2025./ CNA
