Shooting in Los Angeles, 10 killed

Ten people were killed during a shooting attack on Saturday evening in the city of Monterey Park, California. The incident occurred at a dance venue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said.

The police are looking for the person suspected of the incident and the authorities do not yet have information about the motives of this attack.

Ten other people were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, at least one of them is in critical condition.

The gun attack happened after 22:00 local time, near a place where the Chinese New Year was being celebrated, American media reported. Thousands of people attended the celebrations earlier in the day. The city of Monterey Park is located about 11 kilometers from the center of Los Angeles./ Voa
