On the eve of the tourist season, water costs for businesses in Durrës

Water prices for five other municipalities in the country have been revised. The Water Regulatory Authority (ERRU) approved the tariffs for those units that are included in the regional enterprise of Durrës, which includes municipalities such as: Durrës, Shijaku, Kruja, Rrogozhina and Kavaja.

In some cases the fee for family members has been left unchanged and in others it has been increased depending on the municipality and the spaces which seems to have been deemed reasonable after the application made by the water company. The decision enters into force on 15.6.2024 and is valid until 31.12.2026.

But how have the prices for families, institutions and businesses changed in these municipalities according to the new decision?

Specifically, for water supply, families in Durrës and Shijak today pay 70 ALL/m3, and the new price that will be in effect until the end of 2026 is the same. As for public institutions, ERRU has decided that their price for water supply in these municipalities will be 16.6 percent higher than the old price. For private individuals or businesses in Durrës and Shijak, the price of water will increase by 7.7 percent compared to the current price.

In Kavaja, the price of water supply for families is expected to increase by 31.5 percent according to the new decision. From 30 ALL/m3 they will pay 50 ALL/m3. Public institutions, on the other hand, will pay a price 75 percent higher than the current price, while the businesses of this municipality have a 40 percent increase in the water fee.

In Kruja, the price of water for families is expected to increase by 34 percent, where from 35 ALL/m3 they will pay 48 ALL/m3. For public institutions, the price will increase by 20 percent, while for businesses in this municipality, there is no expected price increase and they will continue to have the current price of 100 ALL/m3.

The last municipality is that of Rrogozhina, where according to ERRU's decision for families, it is foreseen that the water supply will not change. They will continue to pay 48 ALL/m3 as much as they pay today. The same will happen with the businesses that will continue to keep the fee of 100 ALL/m3 that is in force. Public institutions will pay a fee increased by 6.6 percent and from 90 ALL/m3 they will pay 96 ALL/m3.

Earlier ERRU approved revised prices for some enterprises in the country that include municipalities such as Fieri with Roskovec and Mallakastra or Vlora with Lezha where the latter also includes Kurbin, Rrëshen, Rubik./ Monitor.al
