The strengthening of the Lek/ Gent Sejko reveals the reason why the fall of the Euro has not produced a crisis

Governor Gent Sejko in the Economy Commission has revealed why the fall of the euro has not produced a crisis.

Sejko stated that the lek has strengthened due to the increase in exports and tourism.

"The strengthening of the exchange rate has come from structural improvements, from the improvement of Albania's trade balance as a result of economic growth, mainly in tourism, the improvement of commercial exports based on tourism", said Genti Sejko.

The fall of the euro has affected the market by favoring importers and putting difficulties on the other hand for exporters or employees who receive salaries in euros.

"Albania has chosen this regime, this is the regime recommended by the Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Commission, in order to face crises", said the governor./ CNA
