Import prices down for third consecutive year, annual decline 0.7% in April-June

Prices of imported goods have been decreasing continuously since the last quarter of 2023 until the second quarter of 2025, but on the other hand they are not being reflected in retail markets as inflation measurements show an increase in prices for most groups of imported goods.

The Import Price Index, in the second quarter of 2025, marked a decrease of 0.7%, a year earlier this change was -1.0%.

The quarterly change in the import price index in the second quarter of 2025, compared to the first quarter of 2025, has a decrease of 0.1%.

Compared to the second quarter of 2024, import prices of products in the section "Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning" decreased by 5.3%, followed by the sections "Water supply, waste treatment and management activities" by 2.2%, "Manufacturing industry" with the largest share of 94.0%, by 0.4%.

Within the "Manufacturing industry" section, the largest price decrease is observed in the products of the activities "Manufacture of wood and products of wood and oak, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and wickerwork" by 1.2%, followed by "Processing of food products" and "Manufacture of paper and paper products" by 0.9% each, etc.

On the other hand, the "Extractive industry" section recorded an increase of 0.1%.

Compared to the first quarter of 2025, prices in the section "Water supply, waste treatment and management activities" decreased by 0.6%, followed by the sections "Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning" by 0.5%, "Manufacturing industry" by 0.04%.

Within the "Manufacturing industry" section, the largest price decrease is observed in the products of the activity "Manufacture of paper and paper products" by 0.5%, followed by "Processing of pharmaceutical products and preparations", etc.
