The son of the former prime minister of the dictatorship, Mehmet Shehu, Bashkimi, published in 1994 a book with about 170 pages, then republished under the title "Autumn of Anxiety".

Bashkim Shehu as a writer, as a publicist, shows the course of events in his family, in the moments when the dictator was getting ready to hit his closest collaborator, his companion for almost 40 years.

In his book, Bashkimi talks about the discussions with his father, about the letters he burned in the fireplace, about the information he had asking him to be more careful when going out with his wife, with her behavior.

Now, Erion Veliaj has been gripped by anxiety just like Mehmet Shehu 40 years ago, who then ended up killed/suicided, an issue that is still debated to this day, but one thing is certain, Mehmet Shehu was a victim of dictator Enver Hoxha, who had decided to hit his closest collaborator, his closest companion, his most loyal man.

Today, history is repeating itself in Albania, but not in a time of dictatorship, in another time of a democracy mixed with autocracy, with a lot of power control directed by Edi Rama, where Veliaj was seen as his closest companion.

The mayor of Tirana himself has realized for months that he was despised by the one who thought he could protect him, could save him and would leave him the chair of the head of the SP when he left, but he had forgotten that Edi Rama he would never do that, since unlike Enver he is still very young and cannot accept having snakes around his feet.

Perhaps, he received the lesson from the time of Enver, who struck Mehmet Shehu in the last years of his life, to guarantee his family and persecuted his family, imprisoned them, exiled those whom the dictator had as his children.

Edi Rama took this lecture well. Enver Hoxha did not do it without purpose to cut off Mehmet Shehu's head to ensure his future and that of his family. And when Erion Veliaj feels more endangered than ever, his eyes turn to Edi Rama and Bashkim Shehu's "Vjeshta e Ankthi", history repeats itself.

A month of coldness and a few days of closeness, a year of coldness and a few days of closeness, then Mehmet Shehu was found dead. A few months of coldness between Rama and Veliaj and the latter is politically dead, this issue is no longer discussed. What is discussed is when he will be handcuffed.

The political end of Erion Veliaj is the most painful act, but the right one for Edi Rama. And bringing the mayor of Tirana to justice is the proper act of SPAK. He learns from everything that every politician has an end, with glory or not, according to what he has chosen as a direction in his public life, to end up like Erion Veliaj or worse than him, to end up like Mehmet Shehu or worse that he, or live and see and write history./ CNA
