Fires in the country/ 17 active fires, 1000 forces on the ground to extinguish the flames

The Ministry of Defense announces that there are currently 17 active fire outbreaks in several regions of Albania, where work is continuing to isolate and extinguish them.

Approximately 1,000 military and civilian forces have been deployed on the ground, working non-stop, under the coordination of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Prefects and the National Civil Protection Agency.

Under the coordination of AKMC, Air Force vehicle support is being provided in several areas such as Delvinë, Konispol, Berat, Dimal and Bërzhitë, with 5 helicopters involved in operations at this moment.

It is learned that so far 9 fires have been neutralized, which are being closely monitored to prevent reactivation.

During the afternoon, two more "Canadair" aircraft from Italy and Croatia are expected to be deployed to further strengthen the air intervention. /CNA
