2025 elections/ CEC receives about 21 million additional ALL from the 2024

The Council of Ministers approved in this Wednesday's meeting the decision for an additional fund in the 2024 budget, for the 2025 elections.

This fund will be given to the Central Election Commission.

The government has granted the CEC an additional amount of 20,900,000 ALL to cover preparatory expenses, which precede the 2025 parliamentary elections.

"To the Central Election Commission, in the approved budget for 2024, in program 01610 "Planning, management, administration", the fund of 20,900,000 (twenty million nine hundred thousand) leks is added to the item "Current expenses", to cover preparatory expenses, which precede the elections for the Assembly, in 2025.

The financial effect, according to point 1, of this decision, is borne by the reserve fund of the state budget, approved for the year 2024.

The Ministry of Finance and the Central Election Commission are charged with the implementation of this decision", the decision states.

Earlier, the CEC has made a request to the Ministry of Finance for an extra fund for the 2025 elections with a total of nearly 4.6 billion ALL for the technology in the process, for the addition of equipment for electronic voting-counting-identification, as well as for the reward of to the members of ZEAZs, KVCs, GNVs and their trainers, as well as for temporary employees./ CNA
