SPAK Operation/ Assets linked to Mir Pepa are placed under seizure

Details have been released regarding the operation conducted by the Special Prosecution Office to crack down on the criminal group that trafficked narcotics from abroad into Albania.  

Several arrest warrants have been issued as part of the operation, signed by prosecutor Alfred Shehu. Among the individuals for whom an arrest warrant has been issued is businessman Jetmir Pepa (Marashi), known as the owner of the company "Pepa Group".

According to journalist Klodiana Lala, SPAK has placed under preventive seizure the company "Pepa Group" owned by Mir Pepa and the assets associated with it, which are suspected of deriving from drug trafficking proceeds.

"Mir Pepa, the head of the criminal group that coordinated drug trafficking. Meanwhile, several suspects have been arrested in Tirana, Durrës and where the action was taken. The action continues to control the bases and dozens of companies that are suspected of being directly or indirectly owned by members of this criminal group.

"SPAK has signed a preventive seizure against the company "Pepa Group", including the seizure of any movable or immovable property related to it. It is suspected that they derive from the criminal activity of drug trafficking ," said journalist Lala.

The operation was carried out as part of investigations into a criminal proceeding related to organized crime, drug trafficking and laundering of proceeds of crime. /CNA
