The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, whose directors are behind bars for the scandals in this institution, will be part of the opening of the College of Europe today. 

The news was made public on the website of the college on platform X, where the minister Ogerta Manastirliu, the ambassador of the EU, Silvio Gonzato and the rector of the college Federica Mogerini will be part of this meeting.

In this regard, there was also a reaction on social networks from the former Deputy Minister of Education, Taulant Muka. 

The latter writes ironically that "who better to inspire students on the "alternative" paths of success than a minister with a plagiarized doctorate and a mayor without an original degree."

"Special guests of the College of Europe: a minister with a doctorate in plagiarism and a mayor with no original degree. Who better to inspire students on "alternative" paths to success? I thought Europe represented higher standards than Albania" , he writes. 

The invitation made by the College of Europe to Veliaj is a scandalous act, since we have a mayor who is being investigated by SPAK for some hot files and cannot be an example for young people./CNA
