On Friday, September 6, the 24th protest will take place in front of Tirana City Hall, where the resignation of Erion Veliaj will be demanded. 

As today is the Consecration of Mother Teresa and is a holiday, the protest of the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater and the opposition will take place on Friday.

Dozens and hundreds of citizens are expected to gather again in front of Tirana City Hall to demand the resignation of Erion Veliaj.

It is expected that there will be a new format in this protest.

Beyond the eggs and the burned face of Erion Veliaj, it is thought that there will be other scenarios before the Municipality of Tirana.

We remind you that the protests started after the scandal that gripped the municipality, where most of the directors ended up in prison due to tender abuses, but also for the incinerator affair.

For the latter, a few months ago the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was questioned by SPAK.

On the other hand, the directors of Veliaj are being investigated as a structured criminal group.

Tensions and clashes with the police have not been missing in recent protests, as protesters have tried to get inside the town hall building.

Members of the opposition in the Municipal Council of Tirana have not been allowed to enter the institution of the municipality.

Citizens have warned that the protests will not stop until Veliaj leaves the municipality./CNA
