The physics program at the University of Shkodra does not have any students registered in the first year. This was announced by the rector Tonin Gjuraj during the academic senate meeting, while he said that in total there is no decrease in the number of students and that the figure is almost the same as last year.

Rector Gjuraj said that physics could be merged with mathematics, while the university will undergo a reform and restructuring of several faculties, such as that of foreign languages ??with social sciences.

"When I ran, the first thing I said was to stop the decline in the number of students. Among the first years, this year we have 998 students registered and we have one more student than last year and this has its own symbolism. We will see the strategy for growing in the future at another time.

Regarding the second cycle of studies, in the Scientific and Professional Master, we have recorded an increase. Last year we had 641 students while now we have 680 students. In the Bachelor, in the first year only one program will be inactive, physics which has no students registered in the first year.

On the other hand, the programs of the Faculty of Economics are very good, we also have an increase at the Faculty of Law, all quotas have been realized in physical education, nursing, but also the programs of a professional nature have their quotas realized at 100%. There will be a structural reform that will start soon at the university and of course we will continue with the profiling strategy because it is a mandatory document. The reform that we will carry out will not mean that there will be closure of the programs, but that we will see the possibility of what we will do with the Department of Physics, if there could be an option to merge it with mathematics as departments, not as study programs.

"We will strengthen informatics and we think that the Department of Informatics should be separate. We will also discuss a merger of the Faculty of Social Sciences with the Faculty of Foreign Languages ??to have a larger, more attractive faculty that could be the Faculty of Humanities," said Gjuraj.

After Rector Gjuraj's speech, Senate member Gasper Kokaj held a debate, saying that university administrator Admir Uruçi resigned a short time ago after pressure from the rector.

"The administrator process, the process of dismissal, of removal from pressures on the administrator and the process of administrator applications. In this whole process there is a tendency for abuse and this procedure is very abusive and I wanted to make it public. I have another question, the Economics and Human Resources Committee of the Academic Senate has made a report.
