A serious incident occurred on the evening of May 9 in Lezha. According to reports, the former leader of the Democratic Party of Albania in the administrative unit of Dajçi in Zadrima, Lezha, Sokol Toma was raped by as yet unidentified persons.
The 53-year-old was hit with hard objects, and it is reported that after the incident he was sent for specialized treatment to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 on the Mamurras-Laç highway in Sandzak. Investigations have been launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators, while the reasons for the rape are still unknown. An official response to the incident is awaited. /CNA
