Berisha's statements towards Gonzato/EU: Unacceptable, we strongly condemn the personal attacks

The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Luçiano Boçi, has reacted through a video message to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements in Elbasan, accusing him of avoiding criticism of the European Parliament's report on corruption, elections, media and justice.
Boçi said that Rama "declares anyone who does not applaud him an enemy," while blaming the problems in the country on the media, the opposition, and citizens.
According to him, Rama is trying to cover up corruption with propaganda and political rhetoric, while citizens need jobs, agriculture, justice and higher salaries.
Full message:
Dear citizens, Rama today in Elbasan spoke about poison, about disinformation, about forces against the government. So, he spoke about internal and external enemies. But he did not say a word about the strong criticisms and denunciations that the European Parliament has made of his government: high-level corruption, pressure on the judiciary, serious problems with the elections, suppressed media freedom and lack of accountability.
In Elbasan, Edi Rama did not come to give an account. He came to declare anyone who does not applaud him an enemy. According to him, his media have not been caught because they criticize him. The opposition is a walking disaster for us. Citizens who complain are victims of misinformation. Farmers who do not receive any support should learn the bills because they do not know how to read them, according to Rama.
Those who talk about corruption, according to the prime minister, do not understand the economy at all. So, the fault is not with the government, according to him. The fault is with the news, which it nevertheless controls 90%. It is with the portal, with the opposition, with the citizen, with the farmer, with the hill that falls by itself, with everything except power. This is the essence of a government that has lost touch with the country. When people complain, it calls them poisoned. When the media reports the part they think, it calls them deformed.
When the opposition clearly denounces it, it calls it an obstacle. When corruption erupts everywhere, it tells us that the economy is growing, therefore corruption does not exist. Magical logic, as befits a government that believes that reality is changed by party rhetoric. But the truth is more stubborn than propaganda. Albania and Elbasan do not need party lectures, they need safe roads, jobs, schools, real agriculture, services, justice and dignity.
Higher salaries and pensions. Albania does not get closer to Europe by declaring the media it cannot control as an enemy, by attacking the opposition it does not control with all its might, and by asking citizens to believe that corruption is simply a television misunderstanding. Europe is not an assembly slogan. Europe is a standard and the first standard is accountability, precisely what Edi Rama avoids in panic every time he climbs to the podium. /CNA
