Another crack in the roads of the southeast / Boboshticë-Dardhe segment

Since this Tuesday morning, a degradation of the lateral crack in the road body has been identified in the Boboshticë-Dardhe segment, which has limited the movement of vehicles to only one lane.

The damage was found at kilometer 9.5 of this axis, which has a total length of 13.6 kilometers and constitutes one of the most important nodes connecting Korça with the tourist village of Dardha.

The road authority has gone to the field to assess the situation, while measures to stabilize the segment are being considered. In the meantime, restrictive signage has been placed in the area to guarantee the safety of drivers.

The problems in this segment are not new. According to information, the damage started about 6-7 years ago, while the situation has deteriorated significantly recently. About five years ago, an asphalt coating was carried out, an investment of the Albanian Development Fund, but despite the intervention, cracks and deformations have appeared again.

This situation comes at a time when landslides and asphalt cracks have been identified on several roads in the southeast, raising concerns about the quality of the works and traffic safety on these important axes./CNA
