Trial of former KLA leaders/ Bushati: Trump's intervention, more like moral

Analyst Andi Bushati said today that the way the trial in The Hague against the four former KLA leaders is going does not look good at all.

Invited to 'Syri Tv', Bushati stated that a mention of the case by US President Donald Trump, rather than an intervention, would be a moral support before the next trial.  

"Apparently, not only Hashimi but all four of those men have taken a bad path, at least without going to a second instance of trial. But the problem is, even when you have taken a bad path, even when you know that you cannot change the course of a court, even by intervening with Trump, people who have held high political positions, in addition to that immediate interest in saving a few years in prison, also need some kind of moral support or recognition of their role. And you being in prison in The Hague and hearing that somewhere far away in Washington, in front of the president of the United States, you are being amnestied for what you have done. So, for me it is more of a moral support than a diplomatic act by Rama, who has enough power together with Vjosa to force Trump to intervene in The Hague Court. So I see it simply, Rama gets the halo of the hero who defended the commanders, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli feel moral satisfaction, the concrete result is zero, yes "Small pleasures sometimes should not be excluded even though they are fruitless," Bushat said./CNA
